| a co-worker mentioned that he's planning to eliminate the huge brake booster in his classic chevy by swapping to a hydroboost brake system which uses pressure from your power steering pump to boost braking rather than using engine vacuum and a brake booster. It's the first I've heard of such a thing but apparently it's common in diesel applications. Do any of you know about the pros/cons of such a setup? I'm mainly interested because I do like the look of a clean engine bay and that brake booster just isn't very appealing to look at.
